Arunachal Pradesh is a state with an area of 33,000 square miles in the North-Eastern part of India. The state shares a border with the states of Bhutan and Nagaland, and the countries Myanmar, China, and Bhutan. Itanagar is the capital of Arunachal Pradesh. Much of the state is covered by forests. The mountain ranges of the Himalayas along with the north-south running ranges divide the state into five river valleys; the Kameng, the Subansiri, the Lohit, the Tirap, and the Siang.
Economy
Agriculture primarily drives the economy. Major crops from the state are rice, millet wheat, pulses, sugarcane, and maize. Notable industries in Arunachal Pradesh are tourism, timber, tea, coal, and fruit processing plants. Much of the state’s power comes from hydroelectric power plants.
Tourism
Areas of interest are the Tipi Orchid Research Center; Talley Valley, a wild life sanctuary; Bhismaknagar, sacred heritage site; and Malinithan, a site for the Ruins of Durga Temple. The airports for travelling in Arunchal Pradesh are Pasighat, Along, Zijo, Daporijo, and Teju. There are many festivals that occur in Aruncachal Pradesh. Two of the most notable fairs are Malinithan Mela, and Kund Mela.
