Amritt in the News

Until very recently, the Conventional Wisdom dictated that early-stage companies must locate the entire team in one office, sometimes even in one room. But as early as 2000, visionary venture capitalists like John Doerr of Kleiner Perkins had publicly identified new global trends. At a Churchill Club event, Doerr identified a new mega-trend for startups in Silicon Valley to locate part of their development teams in India and China.

Time has proven Doerr to be right but not every startup is able to use offshore resources effectively due to lack of expertise in global operations.

Principals at Amritt have been on the executive team of several venture-funded startups. We know the realities of raising and spending venture money while building a new company. We know the special challenges of locating some team members half a world way, be they in Israel, India or China. At the same time we are deeply familiar with the extraordinary leverage in time-to-market, in cost saving, and in running a 24 hour operation. As a result, we can provide expert guidance in determings how best to exploit overseas resources as a startup.

"When our company needed high-level expertise, I was advised to turn to Amritt's services. They hit the ground running and were able to understand our situation very quickly. We were quite impressed with Amritt's deep understanding ... Amritt's principals can communicate complex concepts in a crisp, clear manner understandable to technical and non-technical people alike." Frank Addante, Founding CEO, StrongMail Systems, Inc (funded by Sequoia Capital which also funded Google).

Here is what another legendary venture capitalist, Mike Moritz, says

Do you have plans to invest more in India?
We have investments in the US in at least 35 companies that have either major or minor footholds and operations in India. I can’t conceive of organising a small company in Silicon Valley where from Day One the entire process of helping channel the enormous forces of India wasn’t discussed. It’s right on the agenda, from Day One.

Is cost-arbitrage what attracts you to India?
Cost is clearly part of it, but what is more important is the extraordinary educated talent-driven workforce that constantly gushes from the Indian institutes. That’s the real appeal. It’s like Silicon Valley. As Silicon Valley developed over time it has attracted more skilled people and then more good things happen. And the same thing will happen for India.
