Sarah Louise Palin née Heath (February 11, 1964) is an American politician and commentator. She is the 2006-2009 governor of Alaska, and was the running mate for Republican John McCain in the 2008 presidential election. Ridiculed and shunned for her very conservative views and side, she has become more than a politician.

She has become a celebrity often incorporated into pop culture. Her daughter is Bristol Palin. In 2011, Sarah Palin went to India along with her husband Todd Palin. They were invited by magazine, India Today, with the trip paid for via the Washington Speaker’s Bureau. They spent a couple of days in India, stopping by Israel on the way back to the US.
