Russell Brand (June 4, 1975) is an English singer, author and radio/television presenter, actor, and comedian. He is famous for his androgynous, glam-rock, and eccentric look and demeanor. He recently became very popular in the States for his starring in many comedies such as Forgetting Sarah Marshall and Get Him to the Greek.

He also appeared in Comedy Central Presents, receiving much acclamation for his standup. He is married to American pop star Katy Perry. In fact, Russell proposed to Katy Perry in a tent at the foot of a mountain in India where she accepted. They were subsequently married in India within a wild tiger sanctuary, Ranthambhore. They had a traditional Hindu wedding, with both the bride and groom wearing traditional Indian attire for the ceremony, and Perry's bridemaids all wearing saris.
