Bill Clinton

Doing Business in India Guide > Bill Clinton

Bill Clinton (August 19, 1946) was the 42nd president of the United States and is the former governor of Arkansas. He is the first president from the Baby-Boomer generation. Although his presidential career had an overall good run, it took a bad turn at the end. He is the second president to be impeached (after Andrew Johnson) because of his Lewinski Scandal. Still, he is generally well-liked and popular amongst Americans and Indians alike.

In April 2000, he went to India for the first time with his wife and daughter Hilary and Chelsea. (Hilary had gone before on July 17, 2009.) They visited Delhi and Mumbai. Bill and Hillary Clinton are immensely popular  in India, and both continue to travel there. In 2009, Clinton spoke at the IIT Alumni Conference in Chicago where Amritt Managing Director, Gunjan Bagla met with him. (http://www.theindiaexpert.com/clinton-global-initiative-and-iit-alumni)
