Aishawrya Rai (November 1, 1973) is an Indian actress and former model and has been crowned Miss World in 1994. Known for her beauty and interesting blue-grey eyes, she was getting starring roles in films which she turned down at first to keep studying architecture.

Some movies of hers that have become popular in the states are Bride & Prejudice (2004), a modern Bollywood retelling of Jane Austen’s Pride & Prejudice which was filmed in Los Angeles and Santa Monica, California. She also appears in The Pink Panther 2(2009) as Sonia, a suave spy. She has appeared on The Late Show with David Letterman, The Tyra Banks Show, The Martha Stewart Show, and Oprah. She was represented by the Creative Artists Agency (CAA) in Beverly Hills.
